Ron, This has been brought up in the past, but what's your recommendations on the head diamter (I&E) and the length? Thanks for the tip, that's a great price! |

The valves in this case are 1 piece ss and the stems are hard cccchromed to improve wear charectics. This is a common practice in hi end valves. |

A street engine doesn't need a large intake valve. The only reason I use the 1.6 in the intake is some 49-53 blocks have bad seats and the 1.6 allows me to get into some virgin metal for a good seat. 59 series blocks have hardened seats in both I&E so you have to use the 1.5. The stock chevy valve is .060" longer than the Ford valve which requires a shim under the valve spring. It also makes up for the smaller base circle of most reground cams. Hope this helps. Ol' Ron |
