Default Painting 31 Cabriolet Elkpoint & Kewanee Green

I visited my PPG Paint Dealer yesterday to get the paint for my car. I have been accumulating information off the Ford Barn and from the Model A Ford reen and #546 for Kewanee Green. These numbers were in their data base. Unfortunately the paint samples they come up with are not quite right. For one thing, the two colors are too close together. There isn't enough of a contrast. Also, the tints are not quite right.

Yesterday I made myself believe that these colors would work but now I am not happy with them. Fortunately, the paint has not been mixed up yet and I put a hold on that. But, I do have at home all the other stuff, solvents, hardners and primers, so I am committed to PPG. It looks like their computer is just picking codes that are close instead of using exact formulas.

Has anyone painted a car recently that has used these colors and is very happy with the tints? Do have any ideas of how to come up with the correct colors that maybe could be matched. Thanks for all your help. Ed

That is exactly how they work.

I would give TCP Global a call and see it the PPG stuff you have is compatible with what they sell as they sell custom tints to match the color guides.

These are formulas for base coat PPG that I had scanned several years ago when I ran my restoration shop.
