Default Pulling rear hub

Hello guy's

So I am pulling my rear hubs on my 1930 model A.

One side came apart really easy but the other side is an other story.

The hub came loose but I think the brake shoe is stuck in the hub.
I tried to adjust the brake shoes but the adjustment will not budge.

What are my options?

Best regards
Maeckel

If the drum moved out a little and the shoe got hung up, push (maybe needing a rubber mallet whack) the drum back in place, and then try backing off the adjustment wedge.

The hard part is done- if the hub broke free of the axle, you'll get it off!

Also try turning the drum as you pull it off.

The problem is also that I can not back up the adjustment wedge because this one is also seized.

Penetrating oil is your friend. I use Kroil, others use different concoctions. soak the adjusters let sit and repeat, a little heat wouldn't hert either, then soak again when cool. Work back and forth. Keep at it they should free up

I've found the use of the penetrating oil with the freeze capability is very helpful

or this one with a more humorous name

Like Bob said try turning the drum . It might help to mount the wheel back on and use the advantage if the wheel to see if the drum will walk off.
The adjuster must and will eventually come out after drum removal. You just have to soak it and use enough muscle and a square socket to remove. Heat may be necessary .
If the adjuster is that bad you probably need a total brake rebuild as that's not a good sign for the system . How do the brake levers move ?

Patience young Grasshopper....
As Larry stated, use a square socket, or the square brake wrench.
Remember right is tight.....left is loose. This is from looking at the backer plate from the underside of the car. Not from curbside of the car. Good luck. Jeff

I just went thru that with an original 1928 . the "e" brake was holding them tight . after days of trying (soaking / heat) , I went to work on it more & they were loose & came off .
