Default Oooops...do service brake cross shafts bottom out?

Ooops. ...is service brake cross shaft supposed to hit the back of Trans? After doing brake job, noticed pedal doesnt move much. Further inspection found that shaft won't rotate any more cause hits against back of tranny? Is this common or do I have a unique situation.
Wondering what is fix? Picture attached

Is the frame sagging? I should not hit anything.

I would check your engine mounts.

Yeah, that ain't right. You got a problem right there. Frame or motor mounts, as suggested.

Release the four brake rods and adjust the one from the pedal so that the levers on the cross shaft are straight up and down. From there adjust each brake rod accordingly.

Thank you all. Good suggestions. Will check that out and post back. Doesn't anyone know how much clearance there should be? 1/4, 1/2 inch? My 1930 has zero.

My friend's 31 did the same thing, until he had the frame straightened. Do as Tom said in 6 and also check the frame for sag at the rear motor mounts.

Your problem is not unusual. Check your Motor mounts. Make sure they are not cracked or possible the rubber pads are old, cracked and lets the metal sag or worse loose. Make sure your front motor mount is in right place. Crank hole should line up. If front mount is to high the rear of the tranny will be too low. If your rear mounts are sagging the tranny will be too low.

A temporary fix is to add a couple washers between the frame and the Brake Cross Shaft Bushing Bracket. That will lower the Cross Shaft 1/16 to 1/8". 'member I said temporary.

Check your Frame. a sagging frame will cause your problem. Frames usually sag at the rear motor mount area - where the weight and stress is.
