If they exist, I couldn't find them when I needed them.

Forgive me for asking, but I was not aware that AA's in 31 had wire wheels. My understanding is that only the 28 AA's had the wires.

I have seen them on "Specialty" build coach work - like ambulances and hearses. But the may not have been from FORD.

The were an option in 1931. Mostly used on ambulance, hearse, and flower car.

They are from Ford. Lincoln Hubs on 20" split rims. Also different brake drums to fit the Lincoln bolt pattern.

That's what I love about the Barn... Always learning something...

So, were these wheels applied at the factory, or are they considered 'after market?'
They do look nice...

About 1952, As a kid growing up, the funeral parlor in Oak Harbor, WA had a mint (low mileage) 1930 Model A hearse just like shown above, but in dark colors. Neighbor, Sherman Porter bought it and chopped the back end off making a flat bed truck out of it. All of the neighbor kids learned to drive it around the hay fields. I sure wish I could have had a shot of buying that neat old hearse. It had the same wire spoked wheels and small hub caps as pictured above. It was really neat. The last that I had heard of it, about forty years ago, a guy in Coupeville, WA had bought it.

Chris, I am needing a set for a '28 AA, and if they don't turn up soon, I probably will make a die on a CNC and press some out of brass. You may need to do the same.

My friend needed a crank hole cover for his 1929 Stutz, so I was going to make a 2 piece die to stamp it out, but after I turned the inner part of the die I decided to try metal spinning to make the covers. It worked so well that my friend had me make several more so he could get them chrome plated and sell them to others in the Stutz club that needed one.

Those caps look similar to what I spun, and I'd think they would be ideal to spin.

It is a large cap. '32-'35 hubcaps fit it.
