Front and rear bumpers
Is there a difference in the front and rear bumpers? I have the bumperettes but was considering going with bumpers like the front. Seems I remember someone saying the lengths were different?

Re: Front and rear bumpers
On vehicles with full length bumpers front and rear, they are the same length.

Re: Front and rear bumpers

you must put a spacer where the little bracket for the bumperettes attach to other wise the cross brace will pull the bumper arms in see marcos pictures of that area, and in the JS |

Re: Front and rear bumpers
Btt
I have heard that on a roadster the rear bumper is 2 inches longer than the front. Is there any evidence that this is true? A friend of mine actually has an original that is 2 inches longer than the front? |

Re: Front and rear bumpers
During 1930, the front bumpers were reduced to an arc length of 60-inches from 62-7/8-inches. The arc length is measured straight across from center-to-center of the eye bolt holes.
Pickup trucks did not have rear bumpers, so anything goes when you modify a truck to have them. A Model A when it was new, and as it left the dealer with the option of having a front bumper in the rear, would most likely have bumpers that matched the front of car. Thus according to the judging standards, if the car had 62-7/8-inch front bumpers, the same would be in the rear. Frankly, the small change in bumper arc length is hardly noticeable.
