Model B Carb Leak
I have a Model B carb that is leaking and I am looking for some advice. The carb is leaking around where the choke rod goes in, after I shut the car off. I am looking at a carb drawing, and I think the fuel adjusting needle and adjusting needle housing are where the problem is.
Please let me know if you have any ideas for me to try. This evening I ran the car for 30 seconds or so after shutting the fuel off and that seemed to help. Thanks, Will Kimble |

The bowl vent is in that location. If your float is set too high, or if your float valve is leaking, that is were the fuel comes out.

Re: Model B Carb Leak
Hey Crazydaddyo, isn't the bowl vent more up towards where the two halves split? I am dry there, this is coming out of where the choke rod goes in. When I pull the choke rod, I can see the gas form into a drop there and roll down the carb.
On the Model A carb, the adjusting needle housing has flats on it so you can remove it with a wrench. On the B there is nothing, looks like it is pressed into the carb? Thanks, Will |
