Re: JeffB2
-BTT- I got in but there is no info there ... Looking for info as how self-adj brakes were done on 1954-56 models.

Re: JeffB2
While CAROUSING WITH MY BROWSER ...
I came across a description on a 56 where the guy did not use the anchor pin shoe plate only the eyelet of the cable to hold the retracting springs down. I don't think so...

Re: JeffB2
Maybe the answer?
HD and PI had longer anchor bolts. I assume it was for thicker gauge return spring(s) used. The other problem would be having the correct holes in the shoe to accept the self-adj hardware. There are latter shoes that will adapt.

Not nearly as much drama now and what some may perceive as drama is worth putting up with for the good info there, IMHO

Re: JeffB2
We have done a pretty good job of keeping the drama out of the 1952-59 Ford Social Group over the years it can be "open season" at times on the main board, but it seems folks are getting a lot more thin skinned these days

Re: JeffB2
OK ...
Finally got thru the shields and found the thread. The main reason it is so difficult to retrofit a 54/56 is the height of the anchor pin, it is too short to accept the retaining plate and the cable eyelet. In this instance it was alleviated by not using the anchor plate and replacing it with a small washer. I don't think so.
