A Fordor Pickup?
I can't say I've ever seen one, but was the model A ever offered as a four door pickup?
(I probably chopped up a forum member's truck in my photo below. I hope you don't mind. It's a beautiful vehicle.) |

Re: A Fordor Pickup?
Well, this one is just photoshop of a nice truck I saw on the net. I'm just trying to see if Ford ever actually built something like this. Who knows, I may just throw one together for the fun of it some day after I finish my tudor.

Re: A Fordor Pickup?
beauty is in the eye of the beholder. there was a four door pickup at the last Williamsburg national meet, it looked very odd to me. no thanks.

Re: A Fordor Pickup?
Neat use of a blindback fordor body and an AA chassis.
What holds the front bumpers on?? Parts scavenged from Wonder Woman's invisible airplane?? |

I've always liked crewcabs, they're great with five kids!

Re: A Fordor Pickup?
About 30 years back, I started an ORANGE! "AA" with stuck valves for a now deceased friend. Had original Ford script flatbed & a really decent design wood "CLUB CAB" that looked like a professional build. Chief talked about when you could buy "CAB & CHASSIS" & build your own bodies.
Sadly, the truck now resides in back of a body shop with the wood creation slowly collapsing like a "TIRED" old barn. Chief hauled gravel for the W.P.A. in an open cab "AA" dump truck & his loading "buddy" always "accidentally" poured gravel down his backside +*#%^# Even when he would get out of the truck for loading, there was always a "present" of pee gravel to greet him +*%#%$ But what are good friends for???? Re: A Fordor Pickup?
I THINK a 28-29 Tudor body will fit on a 28-29 AA frame. Even the raised crossmember is there. The bed would have to be shortened a like amount but maybe an A pickup bed would fit?
I extended the cab on my 29 AA by ordering new cab corners from Snyders, cutting off the back at the seam and welding the new corners onto the back of the old corners. Had to shorten the bed but worked beautifully. |

Re: A Fordor Pickup?
It's been 45 years since I first saw it, my friend, Dennis last saw it about 3 years ago and said it was so badly decomposed that he couldn't even make out what the design & construction was! One thing I remember was that the roof wasn't as tall as some wood bodies that I've researched by known body builders. I'm sure pics would be fruitless. It had no front doors & used tudor type seats for access to the rear seating. Wish I could remember more. It DIDN'T look like a "C" cab type design. The roof was covered with wood slats running front to rear & I think the roof had a slight curve from side to side. Bill W.

Re: A Fordor Pickup?
Pix of my extended cab AA using Snyder rear corner panels. I made the back panel from 18 gauge steel so it would have a reasonable rear view. The bottom of the window is even with the top of the seat back.
