Smile ´36 5 w

Hi Ford barners.
I am working on a ´36 5W coupe.
In each end of the windshield opening there are two small holes. On inside there are two pipes where the holes are.On one of the pipes there are remaines of a rubber hose.Is this a drain hose?Wher does it drain? Can´t find any holes on the body.
Thanks.
Rolf in Sweden.

Should be two holes somewhere in the bottom of the A piller below the lower door hinge ,not sure how it works because it would vent out onto the top of the fender,

These are drain ports for the windshield opening. Not sure where they drained originally but I ran a hose down inside the kickpanel area, drilled a hole in the bottom of the cowl and the hose sticks down below/under the running board. In theory, there should be a little bit of venturi effect helping to "suck" the water down the tube when driving. If the tube gets plugged, it's easy to push a wire up or down to clear it out.

In the chassis there's a hole about 8" from the running board in the top this would be about 2-1/2 io 3' from the hinge pillar and be directly below the rubber pipe nipple .it looks like a Factory hole for this purpose ,if you drill like Swedish steel suggests this could line up with this hole ,

In addition to the advice from others , spend some time and make sure that the lower part of the cowl is clean. Dig around in there with a long screwdriver and then put a small diameter hose extension on you shop vacuum. You would be amazed at the rust and dirt you will get out.

I ran my windshield drains to the center hole in the firewall for the cowl vent drain. A 4 way Vacuum fitting or two 3 way Ts will tie all together. This way I could avoid any moisture in the lower cowls.
