Only the moderator can delete the thread but you can edit it. You can hit the edit option and back space everything and then type removed.

Why not just ignore it and let it die a natural death? No use wasting the moderators time unless you have some reason that is not obvious.

I usually edit the title with "PLEASE DELETE". The MODS have to delete it for you.

If the AD is so old ( just a guess, maybe a month or two old ) then the Edit
option button will have disappeared from from your AD, so you can NOT edit it anymore. You can Reply to your AD, and make reference that the item advertised is SOLD or push the Report button and see if a moderator will delete your original AD. .
