Default Where to buy 1936 Brake Shoes?

I can't seem to find a supplier for new brake shoes for my 36. I figured that while I am rebuilding everything I might as well go with new shoes. I see earlier and later shoes but nothing for the 35 from the suppliers I know about. Any suggestions?

They just don't care anymore. I once bought car that was poor at braking. Pulled the front drums to find just that condition.

Anyway the place to find what you want brake wise is here:

Here's MAC's discription:

  • DESCRIPTION
  • FITMENT

  • Also fits Passenger
Also fits 1/2 Ton Pickup. See the part image to distinguish the early 1937 and late 1937. Woven material is the original brake material. Molded material is a modern replacement brake lining.

R & R ONLY. Sorry-we must have the (your) unrebuilt core first.

To have your part rebuilt, please send it to:

MAC's Restoration Service

35 Niagara St.

Rochester, NY 14605

If you wish to use macs, why not just skip them as the middle man. If you google the address listed in the post above it brings up a clutch and brake shop.

If you have the shoes, most likely I have some original woven linings. I can install them with rivets as originally done and even shim them if you have turned your drums oversized. Contact me at [email protected] if you would like for me to look.

More than likely the exact application doesn't matter since they are only selling the service of relining your existing shoes.

Better off dealing with Brake & Equip as you suggested. No middle man needed.

This brought up another question; is '32 brake stuff different than '33-'34?

Don't forget the lost art of arcing. Sometimes you can get old delcos machines on craiglist.

Re the arcing of shoes on machine like Delco or AMMCO. Make sure you get the parts to do it right. Some shoes need to be cam ground some just arced. My AMMCO only does straight arc no cam grinding as sold.
