Default 1935 Fordor, This just happened in my front yard...

Hi Everyone, I was going out to make sure the windows and windshield were secure before a line of t-storms make their way through, and I couldn't go outside...

They really love suburbia, and everyone's yard bushes!

For once I didn't snap a photo of a drooping door handle!

At first, I saw your car backed up to the tree and said Oh, No!

Well since the thunderstorms are now at Warning level, I moved the car so it's not under the tree anymore! Brainerd taught me a lesson about parking under trees.

But they won't show up when it's hunting season in the fall. I hung a trail cam in my backyard for 3 weeks not one deer showed up, as soon as hunting season was done 9 of them walked through.

Jeff, let's plan on doing that engine swap during deer season. I'll plan on bringing my tools and Crossbow.

Howdy Everyone. JM, You won't need a crossbow, a rock and sling will do around here.

I changed the carb on the '35 today, about three hours before these photos, the other one was leaking fuel. I put on a 97 that CharlieNY fixed up for me. It looks like the one that came off has '48' stamped on it so the book says that is '35 original type. Pretty cool. That one is going to NY soon.

Also put MMO into the cylinders for my spare engine. Getting serious about seeing that turn over again.

Also ordered a fistfull of goodies from C&G today.

Drove either the '36 or the '35 every day this week!

Somewhere above five and below fifteen, I'd say. Many more if you include trailers and tow vehicles, and civilians that were there at the time.

Jeff - We've been pretty much off the 'Barn for the past three weeks (Margretha had a total knee replacement and is recovering in spectacular fashion - actually started putting full weight on the leg yesterday, but as you we are both retired Army: we don't do much in a half-way fashion)!! You really made her day with the photos (mine too!). Thanks for the posting!!

We have so many of those stupid town deer, I wouldn't blink to go move a car. They are pests that destroy any garden or fruit trees not fenced off with high woven wire. Love seeing them in the wild, out on the ranch, not so much on my lawn

Up north of San Antonio near Canyon Lake, there is a small community that is overrun with deer. I think there are folks that got to feeding them up there and now they have to suffer the consequences. Now and then some fool will go out and try to feed them like a petting zoo and they sometimes find out why that's not a good idea. More than a few have been attacked by the bucks and they kick the stuffing out of the intruder to the herd.

Hi Everyone,

Marcus & Margretha, Glad to hear y'all are making progress. I knew there was a mother out there who'd see the happy couple. Sending positive thoughts down south.

willowbilly3, you can see in the back of my first photo, what a neighbor does to try to protect a cherry tree! It's a 'shield' of bamboo poles and netting. I think it's the fourth tree they've put in that spot. I think I'll copycat your 'town deer' term. That describes 'em.

Glenn, Was this deer inside your garage laying on the slab?

rotorwrench, Fer sure you have to give them some space. I've had the does snuff and huff cuz they thought I had interest. I keep my distance.

My friend had a moose in his yard and his wife asked if she should feed it. I don't think the barn would appreciate his unedited response.

We get moose in our yard a lot during the winter months(never during bow season ). They can be pretty hard on trees, not to mention going around the corner of the house and coming face to face with a cow with a calf!

Hello Marcus, Wishing Margretha a speedy recovery. I hope all else is well with you. Hope to see you at a V8 meet again.

I recognize that '35 Fordor! I had a great time driving it around Chantilly, Jeff. Thanks again for all the work you and John did to get the car there and also getting Alex and I picked up. What a thrill that was at the airport.

John I got a huge laugh out of that post! If I were closer I'd help install that engine and eat some deer sausage.
