This is not Ford but definitely a vintage distributor or magneto. I have three of these that I'm trying to ID. Any help appreciated.

I'll take a stab at it...motorcycle magmeto...early...but no later then '62
Check the threads, will at least let you know if it American or from across the pond.
My guess is American, my Harley had a mag, and that looks kinda familiar, but that was over 40 years ago

FYI lawnmowers years ago used to have points and condensers as well. any numbers on it at all? Anything on the moveable arm?

Fred,

That be a framus from a fubob. If any of them are female, store them in a separate box from the others, or you could wind up with a whole gaggle of them!

That's just what I know happens around here, anyway. Got a couple of something, and before long the shop is full of them.

Tye it to some fishing line on your pole and go to an antique car or motorcycle show. cast it around and maybe you might get something to follow it back, or bite!
