Default 50 ignition switch

I'm trying to install a repro original style ignition switch in a 50 dash. It is not tight however. Is there supposed to be a washer on the switch?

There is a spring type washer that puts pressure against the back of the dash. The washer pressure holds the switch in place after you turn and lock it into the notches in the dash. Then you snap on the bezel.

Didn't come with the ignition switch!

Where do I get one of those washers?

They usually come with the switch. I don't know if they're available separately. See photo, thin black wavy spring/washer. 1950 Car Ign SW.jpg

Thanks, was going thru my original stuff looking for a glove box lock and found a wavy washer on the old switch. I used it on the new switch after a little fitting.

You can find the wave washer at hardware stores and Lowe's, Etc but they may not have the right size so you may have to go to nut and bolt place
