Default Help with temp sender thread size

Im trying to fit temp switch for a thermo fan in my 37 21 stud. They sold me the wrong adapter.. It should be 5/8UNF . whats the measurement across the thread width of 5/8 UNF.. ? the one I took out of the head is .595"

5/8" 0.625"

What the ? The adapter that was supposed to be 5/8 measured .655" across no way it would go in.

Thought the head fittings were tapered pipe thread not, UNF.
If that's the case then what you have in the head is closer to 1/4 pipe.
Sounds like the adapter is 3/8 pipe which is correct for all the later heads that I have seen.

My old 21 studs have 5/8 UNF.

The other heads have 3/8 pipe.
