Default 1951 Victoria Upper Vent Window Hinges

When installing replacements with new semi-tubular rivets, is rolled end of rivet exposed or concealed by vent window weatherstrip? Any photos of an original assembly would be much appreciated. The old hinges that I removed were attached using small machine screws so I don't know which direction to install the rivets. While it makes more aesthetic sense that finished head of rivet would be exposed, I'm concerned that if hollow end of rivet is installed against hinge it will expand and break hinge. Thanks.
