Default Radiator mounting, 2 holes?

I have two sets of holes on the frame for mounting the radiator, does it make a difference on which one I use and how the grill bolts on? Picking up my grill assembly tonight. Seems like it was a tight fit before when I was removing my distributor. Thanks

I don't know the answer for sure on which set of holes to use. Can you see any wear marks that might give an indication on which holes to use? My 40 also has 2 pair of holes.
I just used the holes that provided the best fit.

The radiator mounts to the rear holes. Check the Private Message that I sent to you.

Will the holes you use make it easier to install lower radiator hoses? Seems like a small point, but you never know. Even fan clearance may be effected. Check it all out on a trial fit with empty radiator.

The holes will determine the where the hood will line up.

And the grille and its relationship with the front fenders as the grille is attached to the radiator.

Here's a modified diagram showing the difference in radiator mounting between passenger car (68) and commercial vehicle (67)
