Okay I have been out of the Model A ownership for awhile but have noticed that some of the engine builders are machining for insert bearings. Is pouring and line boring now a lost art or is this the way they are all going? Is anyone got a good rebuilder to refer me to in or near Lancaster Ohio? Thank You.

No (re the lost dark art of Babbitt pouring) and without a pressurized filtered system Babbitt is better.

There is a guy in Ontario Canada who does Babbit pouring.

He does reality good work. Theo Koudys, recently took the business over from his father Ted.

The business is called around the block engine machining and precision Babbit bearings

As long as I can pick up a ladle, babbitt will be poured. I agree with redmodelt that without pressure, babbitt is better.
