Default Late 31 shocks

I have several really great late 31 shocks with the correct triangular ears, etc
They are really really good functioning shocks. Not a fine point builder I will use these shocks. The deal is they have a "five pie" design on the backs rather than the accepted "four pie" design
Would like some understanding of what "five pie" shocks are. Were they replacements, later years ( I know 32 forward are not like these). Curious!

Bill
they are in the standards and they are original. Ford and National Acme made them.
