Just between the frame and fender/splash aprons.

And rubber tacked onto the bottom of the block in the frame contact area. Any shimming would be additional rubber held in place by the bolts passing through a hole in shim.

Here are some photos of body blocks. The rubber on the block goes down against the top of the splash apron. The splash apron is sitting on the frame webbing, the frame webbing runs from the front of the frame along the frame to the end of the splash apron and ends.
You can read more about the frame welting "anti-squeek" here on Plucks website -

For the AA with 82-A closed cab, the anti-squeak (frame webbing) runs under the front fenders and running board shields to where the shields leave the frame. In the attached, I ran the welt a little further and put welt on the body bracket to make it level with the frame.

There are rubber pads under the cowl sides where the front body blocks are. The other body blocks have a rubber pad attached to the block (between the frame and block). No pad or webbing on the top side of body blocks. Use pads reinforced with webbing (otherwise, plain rubber pads will just compress down to nothing).
