engine miss
I have been following the thread on engine miss and I had the same miss when luugging in 3rd and getting on it at hyway speed. We went to Rynbeck and the car ran poorly so I checked the points and sure enough they were at about .011" so reset and no change. Next I pulled the plugs and they were a nice light tan as they always are. NOW the light comes
on and I realize it's been a few yrs since I change the plugs and probably at least 10000 miles. So I replace the plugs and is like a new car again. Then I remember as a kid in the 50's we would clean the plugs and gap them and they fired perfect until I crancked the pressure up on the tester and at around 50lbs the spark begin to break down. Sooo the problem is we all drive cars that never need tune up and if you are as feeble minded as me you forget to do simple tune ups. Oh and I run h10c plugs and have tried others with out any change in preformance. Regards, Don |
