Default 351W side valve

A wile ago I found an article on a guy who had converted a 351 Windsor to a flathead with all custom made parts, it had bolt on decks and then the whole lot was sleeved and it had custom made heads and rods, the link I have had stopped working and I cannot find the photos, dose anyone have any information on this?

I hope I don't sound facetious, but why?

Question Re: 351W side valve

If a person is talented enough to do something like this, NASCAR would be blowing his phone off the hook.

I've googled and find nothing on it. Did he get it running?

A Winsor block modification like that would be very difficult. The problem would be the exhaust & intake ports since the deck with cylinders would have to include the ports running through there to get proper exits. The block would have to be whittled on a lot to get all that in there unless it was placed on top of the original deck and bolted down. This might make for a lot more stroke than a flathead would have had. It certainly wouldn't look like a flathead Ford V8. There are just too many structural differences.

The block was untoched apart from 8 sleeves, the side valve decks compleat with ports bolded on with counter sunk bolts and then the blocknwas sleved, custom made extra long rods had to be made, the thong loooked very much like a flathead just bigger

Most of us want to improve performance, not downgrade it. So Much for putting Ardun heads on a flatty.

If looking for a larger flathead V8, why not a Lincoln 337?
