Arm rest interior help
What else holds this arm rest in? 1940 fordor deluxe. Have sound deadener on but is there some thin black board that goes on the sides to cover up everything else?

Re: Arm rest interior help
Similar to the Tudor, there is a decorative panel that covers the space. It would match the door panels. Not sure if the arm rest attaches to the panel or a slot on the side wall.

Re: Arm rest interior help
Hi; Just parted out a '39 fordor and sold those arm rests. They were mounted to the interior board only in the '39. that is to the heavy black 'cardboard' panel. Newc

Re: Arm rest interior help
Thanks guys, i know it attached to the black cardboard and used the metal hook on the back but was trying to figure out exactly how it went. Been trying to locate a kit of those black panels already made. i was told that the seat helped hold them down to but when i put them in theres no way i see the seat can do that.

Re: Arm rest interior help
Pretty sure that’s not the correct arm rest for the 40 Fordor rear . The Fordor has the arm rest made into the side panel board and it all goes in as a unit then nailed in place into the tacking strip then the fabric is picked and pulled over the nails to hide them along the door post. At least that’s how I remember doing mine with a new Lebaron Bonny upholstery kit but that’s been 30 years ago.

Re: Arm rest interior help
Would a pair out of a 1940 sedan work?
