Default 21A rods

Is there a correct orientation for 21A full floaters. I have a set that has been stamped and marked both sides. Don’t trust the number stampings to just install them towards pan rails. They have been ground and restamped. I was thinking full floaters were offset. Thanks

The orientation to the outside or inside should not make any difference after all the bearings are floaters . the only thing offset would be the wristpin location in the piston, the front of the piston (most of the time) is marked in some way such as an arrow or the letter F .

Check the bores of the rods. Stock is 2.22o, which is actually alittle tight for the bearings. If your using early stock bearings that measure .109, you'll be OK. However, I usually have the rods honed to 2.221. The next thing is the width of the bearing and side clearance .008/.0010. more reduces the flow to the rods. Rod clearance should be .010/015 to allow good flow through the bearing. Total clearance between all the bearing surfaces is aprox .004.0055. I use 15/40 oil. Hi pressure oil has a tendency to flake the Cad/silver bearings. and the Copper bearings will last along time with these clearances.
THis is a street/competition setup Good luck
Now,I may have some numbers wrong, so some of you builders ma question them. Please do.

The full floating rods, are not offset. This is Fords drawing, for the 18, 48 and 21 rods.
