Default Weather is closing in

We had the 46 out for errands 2 days ago. 30's temps but a good heater and 170 thermostats. But an inch or two of snow predicted for tomorrow so the salt trucks will go crazy and our 46 goes to bed for the winter and we head to Florida. Changed the oil and did the annual brake system bleed. We have that old fashioned Dot 3 so have to bleed every year ($4.00) otherwise the silicone guys say our system will rust shut, gas mileage will suffer and engine will back fire often, LOL. We have the speed bleeders on now so the wife doesn't have to do the pump and hold routine. They work great. Just finished the insulation on my shop so I can start on a 52 Mercury engine rebuild in some warmth.
20 degree high temp forecast for tomorrow and winds 25-35!!! Windchill in the single numbers for the Patriots game Sunday at 8 pm in Boston.
John

Given the recent sinkhole problem in Dunedin I think the 46 is safer in Pittsfield!!

I agree with Felix take the 46 to Florida.

9 degrees here in Nebraska was 60 a couple days ago. Envy you going to Florida. Unfortunately I have painted myself in a corner with a full winters customer work.

This will be the first winter of driving my '41 pickup and I will now be putting in Shewman's thermostats. Even here it is too cold to go without. I don't have chokes on my three carbs so I have to pump a couple of times to get her started. Also have to let it run for a minute after. The plan is to go out at least once a week to satisfy my urge and keep things loosened up. Usually I go to the food store and get some comments such as....my grandfather had an old car too.....or I have a '72 chevy that I am going to restore someday. I sure would not want to go the whole season without going for a ride.

Read this before putting Shewman's thermostats in for the winter. https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=121447

Their "bypass holes" do not allow the engine to warm up properly.
