Default Best way to Detail running board covers

Have cleaned my new running board covers but have a few gray areas and would like them to be more uniform, black . Was not wanting to put Armor All or something like that as its oily and would attract dirt. What is best to use for show appearance . Thanks

I have used Kiwi shoe polish for 48 years on my original rubber running board rubber. Put it on heavy let it dry them buff off with an old towel. I love it. Non greasy

"Protectant 303" I use on all things rubber. Running boards, wipers, window seals....works great.

The shoe polish may work best to get rid of your Grey areas tho.

Spot on!

I still have a couple cans of the "old" Turtle Wax for vinyl tops. Nothing more than shoe polish with a giant dauber. Works great.

I use Meguiar's Natural Shine. I spray it on a towel and rub it on. Gives a nice natural look. Not greasy like Amorall which I quit using years a go. Nasty stuff that attracts dirt.

Since they are new, Meguiar's "Final Inspection" spray should remove the mold release remnants which is what is causing the lack of color uniformity.

If you watched “”The World’s Fastest Indian “. You would know a second advantage to Kiwi shoe polish. The stuff in the flat can.

Why would anyone want to put shoe or any other kind of polish on top of residual mold release chemicals? These are new covers; they're like new tires, they come with residual mold release gunk on them. The first step is to clean off that stuff and then see if the color disparity still exists.

I use Simple Green on mine to get them clean. Great results.

I also use the 303 Protectant. I spray it on the running board and work it in with a 1" chip brush and wipe it down with a clean cloth.
