Dyke's
Of all the books on model As I have not seen Dyke's book mentioned here. Is it as instructive on model As it is for model Ts?

Re: Dyke's
There are far far better books than the dykes book for model A's. Nice book, glad I have one but don't purchase it just for the A information.

The second great 'enrichment' of knowledge on maintaining the Ford Model A, was the Dyke's Manual. Dyke's had been around since the teens, covering all the major car manufacturers. The booklet on the Ford Model A that has been around for a while is a reprint of the original section of a much larger Dyke's Manual of cars in general. I grew up with this larger Dyke's Manual and found it a common item in just about everyone's garage in the '40s and '50s. I find the modern booklet reprint of the Model A section a great and convenient source of quick basic information, and because it is so small, it easily and unobtrusively fits nicely in the door pocket of my '31 Dlx Coupe. |
