Default My 46 truck hates RPM

Changed coil. A bit better, but not much at RPM over 1800. 3 coils all same, HOWEVER is there a coil thats best? What plug is best to not foul in 6v

Sounds like it could be ignition point bounce or "float" what brand of points are you running

Whats your vacuum reading ? Compression checks out near equal ? Plenty of fuel ? Clear exhaust ? Does it stall or just refuses to go higher rpm ? What tach are you using and is it reading correct ?

You need to check the point dwell on both sets of points. Must be correct for proper coil saturation.

Changing your coil three times will not prove anything. I would remove the distributor and check the contacts and settings and contact spring tension etc. Also could be a lack of enough fuel problem as in low float level or blocked fuel filter or some such. Seems a lot of guys always blame the ignition coils which in fact dont give all that much trouble really. Regards, Kevin.

You've had two excellent answers, point float and fuel starvation. Both causes can produce the same symptoms, so much so that flip a coin to decide which to investigate first.
