Default Halibrand Faux quick change

Anyone know where I might find or the availability of the Halibrand case that uses the stock differential components?

Thanks,
Chris

I think there was a thread on the HAMB. It was called a no-change rear end. I remember them being really expensive. I would just paint a steel one with aluminum paint.
The aluminum and mag center sections have a flaw in that the materials are much more flexible than the steel. This lets the mesh get wider and often knocking out the pinion support web.

Not totally sure what you are referring to, the Halibrand V8 center section uses most of the original differential. The new parts are shown for a Hot Rod Works center section (There are additional parts and modifications, but these are the basic parts).

If you want a total fake quick change lookalike use one of the Speedway bolt on units.

Wilson Welding used to make a QC that was built up using the original steel rear end. I don't see it on their web site anymore.

I'm just going for the look. The functional ones are pretty pricey.. I'll check out J's suggestion. Hadn't seen those.
Thanks

Vern Tardell referred to the original Halibrand "dummy" case, with a great photo on page 54 of "How to build a Traditional Ford Hot Rod."

Dick Spadaro once offered a V-8 QC center section in open or closed drive that was made for him by Winters. The cost was about the same as Don Orosco's dummy aluminum banjo housing mentioned above. I have one of Spadaro's closed drive QC's in a '35 tudor sedan.
It looks like the Speedway fake bolt on QC might be your lowest cost option.

Thanks John,
I'm exploring options for that '33 pickup. I have it all blown apart. Still need to disassemble the rearend to see what kind of shape it's in after I borrow a spring spreader and hub puller... 3 speed trans looks good internally. Wondering how everything will hold up to that hot flathead. Rear is a 4:11 going by the stamp anyway. Can always change it after I guess.

If you can weld and all you want is a dummy for the looks. Get a cover plate and fab the rest up.spray paint it silver

Does the '35 rear spring clear the quick change housing?

That's a good price if it is a good unit.

I believe CSArno is referring to one of these "no-change" center sections. This is THE one that Don Orosco used to tool-up for his repro. Real ORIGINALS like this are RARE! DD

Man, I wish I could throw the money for that right now. Just starting a new build so it will have to wait. Atleast it's an easy add on later.
I'm just going for the look of the quick change gear box on back of th banjo for now I guess. The fake bolt on from speedway looks decent.
These are interesting units though.

No. I designed and built a special rear cross member that accepts a Model A rear spring
