Default What I did over winter on my 1934 Ford

Disclaimer: this is a little on the hot-roddy side. If anyone wants this removed I will no problems here. Some of you may enjoy the progress on my car as my time and budget allows

I took my car apart late last year mainly because the clutch chatter was driving me crazy. I had a new clutch in it but finally ordered a rebuild from Ft Wayne and was itching to install it (it fixed the chatter BTW!). I also wanted to add an oil filter so an oil pan with a return line bung was needed. a can of worms effect happened and I ended up changing the front axle and wishbone, painting the firewall, re-painting the engine and lots of other little odds and ends. I purchased an original Edelbrock slingshot manifold and did some repair work on it and installed it. I painted the firewall Christmas eve in my non-heated garage. It turned out very well despite the conditions. The car will eventually get painted as money allows.

I had a 1941-1948 Ford station wagon rear bumper replated and installed on the rear of the car.

And just the other day I decided to try my 1953 Ford assessory steering wheel in the car. I love it, I think it compliments the early 50's vibe I am going for.

On Nov 9th my wife and I welcomed the birth of our first child Cohen. He was born 6 weeks early and spent nearly a month in the NICU so nothing really progressed from then until around Christmas. He just turned 6 months old and I had him in the roadster for some pictures on my 34th birthday last friday (need to get seat belts installed before any rides).

I hope you guys enjoy this. I love old Fords stock and a little hot roddy. I know a lot of you do too, but again I know the rules of the board and if anyone thinks this is innapropriate here just let me know.

Thanks Vic, I was going to save it for my 41 Ford but I think I'll have to run some other wheel in it...I love it in the roadster

I agree, it looks sharp in the Roadster! One of my friends has a '41 Merc Coupe that he installed the re-pop/cut down version of the Crestline wheel in, it looks good but, I'm partial to open cars...

I hear you... I've got to get around to putting my '53 Convertible back on the road, as well as my '49 Cosmopolitan Convertible, so they can join the group... All it takes is time and money... neither of which I've got in abundance these days... Oh well...
