TAMPA BAY AUTO MUSEUM www.tbauto.org.
Today Mike and I took a cruise over to Pinellas Park, Florida, to check out the TAMPA BAY AUTO MUSEUM as a possible stop on the Saturday driving tour part of the 2017 Florida “Barner’s Bash”, from February 24th to 26th. We both came away with the conclusion that the TAMPA BAY AUTO MUSEUM is a must see attraction. The Cigar City Flatheads were given a group discount, just $5.00 per person to tour the 14,000 sq. ft. museum chock full of outstanding vehicles. The location is just about a half hour ride from the host hotel, and features panoramic views of Tampa Bay, perfect for topless cruisin… For lunch, there is a Steak & Lube just about two miles from the museum, and they have car shows just about every weekend. We plan on arriving at the museum between 10 and 10:30 am on Saturday, Feb. 25th. We’ve also booked the pavilion at Philippe Park in Safety Harbor, Fl. For the traditional Cigar City Flatheads BBQ. Additionally, we are setting up several garage/restoration shop tours for Friday, and don’t forget PIZZA for lunch at the now famous Keystone Corner Deli… See you in February.

Sure wish I could come down there. I not sure that any of my Junkers would make it. Anyway I am still working being a slum lord. If we came down there all hell would break loose up here. Can't afford to hire help to keep the peace when we are gone anymore. At my age I got one foot in the grave anyway the wife says. I wish all of you a good time and stay out of the bars.

Here's an up date, for those of you that are planning on joining us at the 2017 Florida "Barner's Bash" from February 24th to 26th. We've got a bunch of really cool things scheduled for all three days, and we'll be cruisin' all around Tampa Bay, taking in some beautiful scenery on the way to our chosen destinations. The "host hotel" is a new one this year, the previous hotel had changed ownership and we had a number of attendees express concerns about the diminished level of service and quality so, we moved up to a brand new location. They've given us a substantial room rate discount, and I'm sure everyone will be pleased. I almost forgot to mention, there is more then adequate space for trailer parking. If you haven't booked your room(s) already, you have until January 27, 2017 to reserve rooms at the discounted rate, and, if need be, you can cancel up until 6:00PM of the arrival date without penalty. We recommend calling the hotel directly at 727-835-7820 to make reservations using your 3 letter code CCF . Additional information about the hotel is posted on page one of this thread. The Cigar City Flatheads are looking forward to seeing everyone in February.

The eleventh annual Florida "Barner's Bash" is just one week from tomorrow, February 24th to 26th so, if you are planning on joining us for some Flathead Fun in the Florida Sun, I hope you made you hotel reservations and, if you are flying in to Tampa, hopefully the weather where you are won't cause any delays. I will be meeting with early arrivals on Thursday afternoon at the host hotel and hopefully we'll all go out to dinner that evening. Looking forward to seeing everyone and having an enjoyable weekend. Vic

It's raining here in Tampa Bay today but, the forecast calls for zero chance of rain, sunny skies and warm (mid to high 70's) temps for the Cigar City Flatheads Florida Barner's Bash" weekend. Perfect topless cruisin' weather...

I'm plannin' on being at the host hotel this evening, around 6:00pm, to welcome the early arrivals for the Cigar City Flatheads eleventh Florida "Barner's Bash". It looks like the weather will be excellent for the full three days of events we have scheduled, plenty of sunshine, blue skies and temps in the mid to high 70's. Excellent topless cruisin' weather.

Hey Guy's, Per someone else's suggestion, I checked on the EAA Ford Trimotor schedule. It follows here and should be a gas if you could schedule a flight. If you go to the EAA website, it has a link to the scheduler which should be done right away as they fill up quick. Ken

John, It was with good intention that I posted the EAA info but what I failed to realize was it is about 190 miles from Vic's town to Naples, Fla. Not really convenient to the "Barn Bashers".
Hopefully, someone closer to Naples can go and take a flight on the "Tin Goose"

Vic keeps us pretty busy, but it would be cool to see a Tri-motor outside of a museum some time. Too far away, but thanks anyway.

We’ve had a resurgence of interest in the Cigar City Flatheads T-shirts so, we are considering ordering more however, before we do, we will need a commitment for at least fifty shirts to cover the initial cost of production. Additionally, in an effort to keep the ‘per unit’ cost down, we will limit the shirt size to Extra Large only. Based on our previous T-shirt order, the cost per shirt plus shipping and handling will be somewhere around $25.00 (subject to change). There is no limit on the number of shirts you that can purchase. We will take orders until we reach the minimum number required, at which point we will request payment and fill those orders.

If you are interested in ordering a Cigar City Flatheads T-Shirt(s) please PM me on FaceBook or on FordBarn. Don’t forget to include the number of shirts you want to order as well as your mailing address.

Thanks for your continued support of the Cigar City Flatheads.

Vic
