Thank you very much, RcT. I am leaning towards a green I saw on a 31 Pickup that is not the usual blue/green. This one looked axactly like an old Bell Telephone green, like used one the trucks I remember in the 50's. Black radiator shell, of course fenders and aprons, black commercial headlights, and a black hood! Strictly utilitarian with no flash. I think the glossy green and black contrasting with the natural oak in a satin sheen with brown leather seats. I might put heavy black screens in the rear bed. Then some appropriate logo on the doors. I see it all in my head !

I don't know if we have spoken before, my name is Brian Ciccone. My Great Great Grand father was John Schurmeier. Founder of the Schurmeier Wagon Company in St. Paul, later to be called the Schurmeier Whitney Wagon and Truck company.

I'm in the process of doing a complete frame off of a early 1928 Model A SW truck.

Below is a web-site of my restoration. It contains a lot of information regarding the company as well. Feel free to give me a call with any questions.

Thanks, Brian

I restored an original steel skinned 1928 Huckster. You might consider skinning you Huckster with sheet metal (It is pretty easy - just flat sheets) and painting it. It is a good look that will set your Huckster apart from all the "woody" hucksters, and is more correct for a working truck.

Actually I did leave some of the wood natural. (I spent so much time on all that beautiful oak!) Originally the entire truck, sheet metal and wood, was painted.
