Default 302/aod

Hello, just getting ready to install this combination in my 53F100. Can I install this and keep OEM cross members? I have seen other posts and cannot get a solid answer. I know I will have to add a transmission mount to fit the AOD.
Thanks

have you tried to install it yet? I have a 302/aod in my 56 f100 and I think the frame is the same. drop it in with both engine and trans together, it helps to have a leveler on you hoist if you're alone. also have a bunch of blocks of wood in different thickness around to set the whole thing on, I use 4x6 beam cut off about 10" long or so, then some 2x4's, 1x4", 1/2", 1/4" ply to make up your blocks. truck needs to be up in the air a bit so you can move things around and see how it's going, how things are clearing, engine angle. you might want to join the "ford truck enthusiast" site. that kind of thing is always going on over there.
