Re: Towed another one home today
My Friend Brian just scored a 1930 model A wood saw. Has a rust free Roadster cowl, engine, frame, Lights very useable. $200.00 on $bay. Only 1 bid!
Yes on the Black wheels and tires....but that's a few months away. I still hear about A's sitting in garages. Early 28 tudor left side brake unrestored $7500.00 in Gloucester. |

Dog, My definition of a crap-rodder is: an idiot that takes a nice "A" like the one Wick just got. And proceeds to strip, torch-axe, and generally ruin a nice old car. Because they have some stupid notion of building a supposedly cool looking rat-rod or as I call it a crap-rod! I'm not to fond of hot-rods either, but I can appreciate the time, talent and $$ that is put into the car, IF it is owner built! If I've offended anybody, to bad! ctvpa really said it best! Bob-A |

Re: Towed another one home today
I heard that that Model A's don't grow on trees, so they are in the bushes, I am getting a stick and heading out.

If you beat the bushes in Minnesota, all you do is stir up the mosquitoes.

Re: Towed another one home today
Great find! I saved the cab on my 29 ccpu from becoming part on a rat rod. I'm going to go find some bushes to beat.

Re: Towed another one home today
Beat a 30 coupe out of the bushes 2 weeks ago. Next weekend taking a friend to see it. It has a 350/auto in it and been sitting for at least 5+ years...some outside.
Looks like a stock model A...price is right. Today drained the oil, pulled the dizzy and the carb. Dizzy is like new. Plugs are brand new just old. Brakes are stuck, shocks still move. Drivers rear wheel the drum is loose. |

Once I dragged it out of the yard to the blacktop I went forward and backward a couple feet and the brakes came loose. It towed 50 miles home just fine. Hammering the backing plate will often loosen stuck brake shoes. |

Re: Towed another one home today
Wheel's turn. Brakes not stopping wheel. I will be repacking bearings, changing fluids.
I'm not use to bolt's that come loose like there suppose too! No wire holding stuff together. Someone did a nice job putting this car together. |

Nice job there Wick. You have a keen eye, a useable trailer and a flexible wallet. Nice work!

Re: Towed another one home today
I put in 2-3 night's a week of overtime at work to have my A's and T's. A 3/4 ton pickup to tow with just got put on hold. I'll beat the bushes this spring and find one.
Being single with a limit of only one or two lady friends helps. When there over 50 you just go buy for a visit and there happy! |

God bless you , I'm over 65, married, some lady friends, and dreams larger than my wallet. Is that a late '31? I got to wondering has anybody re- restored a previousely restored car, or one thats getting alittle tired an worn, taking it down to the frame again? repainting and freshing up.
