Elgin water pumps, any good?
Are Elgin water pumps for a Flathead any good?
Or is speedway sealed bearing pumps a better deal? I googled Elgin water pumps and came up with nothing about them |

Re: Elgin water pumps, any good?
Elgin may in fact be a supplier to Speedway. Speedway does not manufacture water pumps.

Re: Elgin water pumps, any good?
Don't know if Elgin makes the pumps for Speedway, but the Speedway pumps I'm using on my car have been trouble free for the last 15+ years so far

Re: Elgin water pumps, any good?
These are the same ones I believe NAPA sells. They use to be made in the US. The did have sealed bearings when I bought them. If these are the same ones, worked great.

Re: Elgin water pumps, any good?
I think there was an Elgin outboard motor too. My last pumps came from Carpenter & are GR8.

There exists a town by the name of Elgin in ND. School name when I was a kid was the Dutchmen.

Re: Elgin water pumps, any good?
I remember Elgin outboard motors. My older brother managed to collect three of them with the idea that he could come up with one good one.
He didn't. He then moved on to "Martin's" and "Scott-Atwaters's" with a similar lack of success. |
