In 1958 I built a 284ci engine for a fellow in Bridgeport Ct.. Engine was installed into a 1948 Ford Coupe, Car was broght to the drags and was placed in a Gas class with a weight of 3,800 lbs. Your chart said the car weights 3,006 lbs. Car had alum flywheel heads and intake. Just curious if anyone ever weighed their car. OH Yes. We turned in the low 90's Hi 16's But we had allot of fun.

My '50 Fordor weighs 3300# on the truck scale at work.... Mark
For comparison a '97 Grand Cherokee was 3800# an an '04 GMC extended cab was 5000#. I weighed my motorcycles too if anybody cares. They didn't use the scale so I figured I might as well.

Funny... Ya just never know but I weighed my chopper and it weighs 1020 lbs. I am not sure but how is it that a 36 club weighs less than a 35 cabriolet? I would think the club cab would be heavier.

Some of the weight difference between same body styles of 35 and 36 vehicles was due to the wheel difference. The 36 wide 5 wheels are lighter than the 35 spoke wheels

Ron, the book I use is "90 years of Ford" it shows the short door '48
Ford coupes weighing about 3066 #, and the long door coupes weighing
in at 3166 #.

With or without liquids - wet/dry weight possibly part of it?
