Interchangeablity of 2" Connecting Rods
I want to put together a 36 LB block motor, I have, from a bunch of spare parts. Have a decent std/std crank, that would polish OK. Have new +.002 main and rod bearings. New 40 over pistons/rings. The 32-38 rods I have have been honed to +004 making it it very difficult and/or expensive to get the correct bearings.
My question is: Can I use some nice 21A NOS connecting rods, I have, in place of the early rods in this motor? Dimensions seem the same and the gram weight seems to be close on all the different rods I checked even though the weights varied somewhat on all of them. |

I use 21A rods in all my early motors.
