Having read everything here; i tend to believe that most flooding and rich mix problems is still our crap gasoline. Got a new Carpenter 94 a few years back to solve the hot engine flooding problem. Carb worked GR8 out of the box, but still flooded when sitting after a run. Bad fuel, imho.

Here's another thing I just noticed today:
I took my EBU carb apart to replace the power valve with a new one, which comes with a new gasket.
The new power valves they sell are shaped different at the mating surface than my old ones which came from Daytona parts. And the new power valve has a much larger diameter gasket.
I put the power valve and gasket in the bottom of the main body and set it upright on a tuna can, then poured a half a tuna can full of gas down into the float chamber to see if the power valve leaked. AND IT DID.
I took it off again and dug an old smaller gasket out of my box of Daytona Parts gaskets and repeated the test. This time it did not leak.
Good thing I checked before putting the whole carb back together and put it back on the car!

CharlyNY machines those PV's that he sells. Worth it to get one from someone that actually cares if they fit/work or not. The kid working in that parts sweat shop probably doesn't even know what the part is for.
Do I go to the "cheaper" brain surgeon or find one who really cares? Chap
