47 Ford bumper frame mounts
I'm thinking of a design for a bracket for some large caster wheels to move a 47 Ford onto a trailer with no rear axle. I was thinking about mounting them to where the rear bumper mounts, and I can't remember are the bumper mounts on the frame threaded, and if so what size are they?

Re: 47 Ford bumper frame mounts
There are two bolts on each side of the frame that holds the bumper braces on. The bolts are half inch national fine and are spaced three and three-quarter inches apart on centers
They are also on a slight angle upwards towards the front of the car There are nuts on the backside, they are not caged nuts like the front bumper bolts are. |

20 tpi
But you could use any half inch bolt or nut because it’s not attached to the frame, or doesn’t appear to be. Last edited by RalphM; 02-27-2019 at 12:08 PM. |
