Loosen the drive wheel, remove contact tip and cut
wire off so 1/4'' sticks out the rear of the tip. Go to your grinding wheel and grind about 1/16" off the front of the tip where the wire is welded to the front of the tip. Now tap the end of the wire at the back of the tip and it will break loose. Run a gas welding tip cleaner in the front of the tip to take the burrs out. Works every time. G.M.

I have 2 machines, one setup for flux core and one for gas, and have never had a wire welded to the tip on either one. (suppose that if you get too close to the work it will happen) (probably just jinxed myself for the next time I do some welding)
