1933 Tudor brake rods
Looking for advice on mechanical brake restoration. All my brake rods are in bad shape, welded, twisted, etc and need to replace them but have not found any company that offers them. Would like to know what FordBarners do in a case like this. Can anyone tell me the specifications regarding material, witdth, length, etc? Perhaps some of you have fabricated your own. Or better, if anyone knows someone who sells them? Thank you guys. Manuel

Re: 1933 Tudor brake rods
I have a 34 and made new rods from the proper round stock obtained at the local machine shop, measured the original length, threaded the ends sent to an outlet that sells the proper end yokes and threaded them on the rod with a locking nut to the original length ,all ready to go and the price was reasonable , JMHO...

Re: 1933 Tudor brake rods
I made mine out of 5/16 inch High tensile ground finish round stock from a steel reseller and threaded the ends with 5/16 inch national fine thread to suit the end yokes.

Re: 1933 Tudor brake rods
Little Dearborn in MPLS MN had the cure for a sane price . The rods in the pic are out of the 33 in the other pic and are excellent as far as pin holes and threads with some gennie black dipped paint . As you can see though they have serious issues .
