you might try deltacam.com They are in Tacoma, Wa.,USA. I have had them repair several of the newer poorly produced comp cams

I found the specs for Y-Blocks ans early FE's and they were very similar.

I also got the flow specs for stock 368 heads so I built a model in DynoSim5 and it worked out to very close to the advertised HP.

I then looked at a more typical modern profile and here is a comparison of the 2. The alternative specs appear in the bottom right. If you can get a grinder to get close to that, it should do the job for you. BTW, the 292 distributor fits, so if you have a loadamatic you can ditch it for the 292 and a Pertronix. You want to go with about 6 initial and 30 in the distributor by 2500.

thanks all ,
Very interesting Hoop 98 !
1956 Motors auto repair manual gives me
intake opens 18 btdc, ex closes 31 atdc, .417 lift ?
already have later 1.54 rockers and distributor
plan to mill heads .050 for more compression
lincolns have a wide valve arrangement,
so they can hit the block with too much lift ...

so I hope to gain more torque and mid range power
and still get reasonable mileage from a big old car

Are you sue that wasn't 13 ATDC?

Here are the Seat to Seat timing on that YBlock cam

Something like 256/266 .430 on a 108 lobe center should work well.
