Two data plates?
I noticed on my 6-7-29 woody that there are 2 data plates stacked together. I feel certain that they are original, and had never been removed, until now. the better looking one was UNDER the illegible one. Has this occurred before? I'm just curious, and will put them back as I found them. Thank you.

Re: Two data plates?
That's great! I've never seen or heard of that but had actually thought of that possibility. Of course in my 'dreams' the second one was perfect.

Re: Two data plates?
It was a Monday morning build and the production line worker was hung over
OR It was cold and the production line worker was wearing gloves. |

Re: Two data plates?
Great find Slowplane and thanks for sharing this piece of industrial archaeology. Can you tell more about where the 150A was assembled...if all original, is there a factory stamp on the sills?
I am curious, is this just an anomaly that occurred on the assembly line? or was it added later? Were the two similar early?????? |

Re: Two data plates?
How do you remove the data plate without damaging? I need to remove the one on my roadster and not sure how to go about it. Thanks for any advice.

Re: Two data plates?
the '28-'29 data plate is secured by split rivets. I closed them (gently) with needle-nosed pliers, and can re-use the rivets.
'30-'31 use different rivets ,and I think I'd drill those from the backside. |

Re: Two data plates?
On my 31 i just gave the twist rivets a swift rap with a ball peen hammer from the backside. They came right out. My data plate have been painted over when the car was painted in the early 70's. I put a repo plate on and just tapped the rivets back in. I don't know if that's the right way but it worked for me.
