Model A Wheel Colors company
Anyone know anything about this company? I ordered some powder from them about a week ago. Paid via PayPal. Haven’t received any confirmation email and their voicemail is full. I realize things are tough but some sort of communication would be nice. Thanks in advance! Northwest Powder Company

Re: Model A Wheel Colors company
Their 206 area code puts them in the core Puget Sound area around Seattle. Mukilteo probably does have a 206 area code. Interesting that their web site does not include their address in either the about us or the contact us tabs.

Re: Model A Wheel Colors company
During these trying times we must be very patient with companies we do business with. The C19 virus has created a whole new business climate. One week is not an unusual wait time even in normal times. Hopefully this post has not done damage to the integrity and reputation of one of our suppliers!

Re: Model A Wheel Colors company
I had very Good recent success getting Tacoma Cream from the company named “Powder by the Pound”. They may be a good alternative.

Re: Model A Wheel Colors company
This option or activity is penalizing this company for closing under the direction and insistence of the Governor. In my opinion totally unfair !

Thanks |

Re: Model A Wheel Colors company
Can you get your $ back via Paypal and order elsewhere? 3 weeks is enough for them to at least respond to emails and phone calls even if they can't trade IMO.

Re: Model A Wheel Colors company
While I am not Joey, ...and while we no longer powder-paint in-house, a good rule of thumb is 1# per wheel.

I'd feel the same way bud, No they need to refund your $$ and you can find another source. They can't be the only game in town.

I do agree there are hobbyists that choose 'close' on those two colors as they don't necessarily care about accuracy or matching the Paint Guide. My history of struggles with them goes back nearly two decades ago, and since I no longer powder paint wheels (-or any restoration parts for that matter) I really don't care now, but depending on the color, they are the only game in town. Granted you can have a specific color blended yourself however there is a minimum order and a blending charge which drives the price up significantly. Additionally, even with a fluidizer, the powder will go stale just setting on a shelf, and I would not want to purchase powder that was old and has been setting on a supplier's shelf on a 'slow-moving' wheel color. |

Re: Model A Wheel Colors company
I purchased 6 pounds of Tacoma Cream from ‘Powder Buy the Pound” for 6 wheels. I had about a pound left over (I didn’t weigh the leftover). They turned around the order in about a week. A good experience.

Re: Model A Wheel Colors company
Update on Northwest Powder. Never received ANY communication from them nor did PayPal. PayPal refunded my money so all is good. Contacted Powder by the Pound and they new exactly what I needed and was about 100.00 less. Stock number (custom) is # 1399 Tacoma Cream

Re: Model A Wheel Colors company
Here is a picture of the powder coat that I received from powder by the pound as compared to the paint chip in the model a Ford paint and finish guide. The company refers to this color as X-1399 Martenson Maize. The color was close enough for my purposes.
