52 Brake Hoses

Thinking about replacing the 40 to 65 year old front brake hoses on the 52 Merc. Sort of preventive maintenance as they are not leaking yet but I don't want to wait until they do. Local Napa seems pretty high at nearly $80 for the pair. Best price I have found is at a site called parts geek. http://www.partsgeek.com/gbproducts/...-07018602.html
Although I have not checked into shipping costs and conversion to Canadian dollars. Wondered if anybody else had heard of the site and if it is safe I recognize Dorman as a good name in brake parts.

Sounds good, so I proceeded to checkout only to find they do not ship outside the U.S. :-( Guess I'll head back to ebay.

Napa has front brake hoses available for $12.49 (at least here in US.) ($32.19 can )
These are the same ones installed on my '51.
Check Napaonline in your area. You may be able to order online and get the on line price delivered to your store for pickup.

According to Parts Geek, they do not ship to Canada.

Thanks, I will have a look there but there is often a world of difference in prices between U.S. and Canada. . I just found a good price on Rock auto but wouldn't you know, they won't ship to Canada.

Wow! Some difference. Napa Canada online lists the same hoses at $37.99.!

FWIW - D.Carpenter Canadian shipping details quoted below. $25 seems high on a $15 brake hose but maybe there is a giant wall, what do I know? I get stuff from UK cheap and Hong Kong even cheaper (like free) :

What tosses me I had to limit my order to under $100 otherwise I would receive a $5 shipping penalty. Most places incentivize shipping to encourage ordering more, not limiting one's order.

Am I not understanding the math here? 20% of $100 is $20, but the minimum is $25, so it cost you $25 vs $20? If that is the correct math I would think you would want a minimum order of $125 and anything over that is at 20%.

Yes, Rock auto is looking good. They had the correct hoses listed and they will ship to Canada. All for just under $30 Cdn. Too good to be true? We shall see. I already had a credit at Paypal for almost that amount so it should work out well.
