The C6 and MX were both used in FE set ups in 1967. The MX Cruise-O-Matic was used in the lighter duty 390 2V applications and the C6 was used in the 390 4V and larger engine applications for Mercury cars. There were floor shift and column shift versions but there was likely only small differences. The trans model number should be in the PGA (floor shift) or PGB (column shift) series.

I just happen to be knee-deep in researching the topic of Warner Gear cast-iron FX/MX/LX automatic transmission usage in '50s-'70s Ford/Merc/Lincoln/Truck lines. As noted above, 410s in '67 only used the C6. PGA- and PGB- are C6's and have several suffixes depending on engine (390, 410 or 428).

For reference, '67 390-2v w/ MX COM - PFA-B (column shift) - only listing in '65-'72 Mercury MPC-Final Issue for MX in full-size Merc. '67 Canadian Meteor (full-size) used MX dual-range transmissions PFA-B (390) and PFA-E (289) - both column shift versions. FX version (single-range) was used behind 289 with column shift in fleet applications (think rental cars, for instance). The MX COM was last used in '68 Meteors with 240-I6s and 302s with column shift - from '69-forward the FMX (short case) was used in various lines, mostly behind 351Ws and 351Ms if I'm reading things correctly.

Got this photos of the Transmission in my 1967 Mercury. Yep, as mentioned by various Ford Barners, it is a C6. I have already ordered a Kit to repair the leak. Thanks again for your help. Much appreciated.

Check that pan closely in the area of the crease damages. They can crack with that type damage and it's not unusual to see damages like that.

The C-O-M transmissions were available in small (FX), medium (MX), and large (HX) case versions. The FMX was the merger of the medium case components into an aluminum case that was much like one of the small case designs so they mated FX with MX to come up with the FMX. The FMX was the final type of the series. The AOD also has the Ravigneaux type planetary system but that's about all it shares with the older FMX & COM series other than the use of throttle correlation for shift control.

Some of the later cast iron case MX types still had the same type rear support but the rear pump fluid transfer components were deleted. I used one of these cases to set up a decent transmission for a 64 T-bird that I used to own. I never pulled the car anyway. It was too low. I pulled it backwards to get it home one time.
