Default Painting Question

I have a 1931 roadster and I am in the process of painting the hood, cowl and doors. I have two questions.

First question: Is the cowl rail (the part right under the windshield) painted the same color as the body or the darker color of the trim?

Second question: Is the welting between the gas tank and the cowl rail also painted or left black? And if painted is it the body color or the trim color?

Thanks!

If you are trying to be exact I think you would benefit in buying a few items of literature such as painting guides and a copy of judging standards. They are as close to giving the best info. My guess is that area would be painted body color.
