Stabbng the rear end with Columbia
I am installing the banjo rear end and spring assembly in my 40 wagon with a Columbia. Boy that's a heavy assembly. Any advise?

Yeah.....don't try to lift it without help, or without a jack! DD

Re: Stabbng the rear end with Columbia
Put a good rolling jack or motorcycle/ATV jack under the "pumpkin". One hand on jack and the other on one of the axle half's and it move pretty easy. Put on jack away from car and push the whole assembly in to transmission and spring mount.

Re: Stabbng the rear end with Columbia
I use 2 floor jacks, one on each axle. Pump them up together and easy to control.

Re: Stabbng the rear end with Columbia
I used a ratchet strap looped thru the rear bones mount on the torque tube, and looped around the shift tower, put the Columbia on one of the wheel dollies with some cribbing for height so I could guide the drive shaft in the u-joint. Works great.

Re: Stabbng the rear end with Columbia
The mount on the torque where the rear radius rods connect, and a shift tower is the part of the transmission where the floor shifter is mounted.
