Default If You are Going to Kill a Good Original....

....then why not finish it? Wasn't there talk recently about this sort of thing, getting a "hot rod" project underway by butchering what looks like was once a solid Model A body, and then abandoning it? Makes me want to cry as I am trying to find a decent restorable 30 or 31 Roadster body.

It looks like its been sitting around for some time

Unfortunately there are a lot of starters in this world but not a lot of finshers!!!

I guess it could be saved with new subrails, gas tank,& firewall etc .

Looks like another project for Flop !!!!

No telling when that car was taken apart. If it was long ago then it was a car that no one cared to much for. An old guy at church that has tons of model a's told me that they were so cheap when he was young that they would buy a whole car to get a few parts. It looks prety good and you can find everything still to fix it.

A lot of folks don't really have a clue how much it costs to either build a hotrod or do a restoration so they get into the project and then the light comes on and they back out and try to recoup their losses.

How about adding, loss of job, illness in ones self or family, and a host of other things.

Bottom line- if someone is enjoying it in any form-good on them. Tired of seeing "perfect" cars packed away and never used. What's the point? Not as if A's are so rare that there are only 3 left in the whole world.

I opened this thread thinking it was another story of a restored stocker that was butchered then abandoned. Thankfully, nothing of the sort.

I'm tired of seeing abandoned chop-jobs in the junkyards especially when it is obvious that someone started with a pretty solid original piece...

I don't know. I have bought several half (or less) finished Model A's through the years and they turned in to pretty nice Model A's when I was finished with them. Saved me some work and money in the process.
